Katonah Yoga® - 6 Hour Adjustment Training

6-Hour Intensive: Theory, Practice, and Hands-On Application

This 6-hour immersive training introduces the foundational principles of Katonah Yoga through the lens of skilled, informed, and confident hands-on adjustments. Designed for teachers, trainees, and dedicated practitioners, this session blends Katonah theory, embodied practice, and supervised touch techniques to elevate your teaching and refine your personal practice.

We begin with Katonah Yoga’s underlying maps—geometry, measure, and metaphor—building a theoretical framework for why and how we adjust. Through guided discussion, you will learn how structure creates safety, how pattern informs potential, and how hands-on adjustments help students experience a more functional, archetypal form.

The training includes a full Katonah practice to integrate theory into the body, followed by step-by-step demonstrations of adjustments for key postures such as folds, twists, and backbends. You will learn how to use your body as a tool, how to leverage proportion and support, and how to guide students toward stability and longevity. Ample time is dedicated to partnered practice, supervised feedback, and refining the qualities of touch: clarity, compassion, precision, and confidence.

By the end of the training, participants will understand the logic behind Katonah adjustments, feel grounded in their practical application, and gain a clear template for incorporating these techniques into classes or private sessions. This workshop is both conceptual and hands-on, offering a structured pathway to expand your skill set, deepen your practice, and support students with intelligence and integrity.
