Acupuncture: A quiet space to feel better.

Imagine waking up with a clear mind, moving through your day without tension or stress, and feeling like your energy finally belongs to you again. You are strong and able in body and mind, and don’t question your abilities as you navigate your life. You are calm, peaceful, and graceful. That’s the quiet power of acupuncture.

This work isn’t just about the time you’re on the table — it’s about how your life feels after you leave. Acupuncture helps your body reset its rhythms, calms an overworked nervous system, eases pain, and clears the mental fog that weighs you down.

When your system is organized and supported, everything flows more smoothly: sleep deepens, digestion improves, moods stabilize, and your energy is available for the things that matter most.

Acupuncture meets you where you are and helps you reclaim your days — so that wellness isn’t a fleeting moment, but the way you live.

Now you might be wondering,

what is acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a time-honoured medicine — where precise techniques shift patterns, restore flow, and invite the body back into rhythm, clarity, and calm.

Acupuncture is designed to work with your body, not against it. Rooted in Chinese Medicine, this practice sees symptoms not as isolated problems, but as signals of deeper imbalances in the body’s rhythms, energy, and relationship to the world around you.

In my sessions, we work collaboratively. I listen to what’s going on in your life as much as your body, and treatments are shaped by both ancient diagnostic tools and your present-day needs. Whether you're navigating pain, fatigue, hormonal shifts, fertility struggles, or emotional overwhelm, acupuncture offers a way to recalibrate — gently and effectively.

Treatments may include needling, cupping, gua sha, moxibustion, and guided meditation — all tailored to the season, your constitution, and where you’re at that day.

This is quiet, spacious medicine. It’s not about fixing — it’s about helping you feel more whole, more resourced, and more connected to yourself.

FAQs

What can acupuncture help with?

Acupuncture is commonly used for pain, stress, sleep issues, digestion, hormonal health, fertility, and emotional regulation. It’s also a supportive tool for seasonal transitions, burnout, and preventative care. If you’re unsure whether it’s right for you, feel free to reach out — I’m happy to talk it through.

What does a treatment feel like? Does it hurt?

Acupuncture needles are very thin — most people feel little to no pain. You might experience a dull ache, warmth, or tingling sensation, which is a sign of Qi (energy) moving. Treatments are designed to be relaxing and supportive, not painful.

What happens in a session?

In our first session, we get to know each other. We review your health history to see how you got to where you are today, assess you in the current moment, and listen to your goals for working with me. I will take your pulse, look at your tongue, and develop a treatment plan based on Chinese Medicine theory.

How long is a session?

Initial sessions are 75 minutes to allow time for intake and treatment. Follow-up sessions are usually 60 minutes.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on your goals and where you are at today. Generally, people feel relief after 3-6 treatments, but some cases will take more or less time. Throughout our treatments we will continue to reassess and ensure you are making progress toward your goals.

Are there any side effects?

Yes. Occasionally, there may be mild bruising, fatigue, or emotional release — all normal responses as the body recalibrates. Most people leave feeling relaxed, grounded, or energized. Some even say this is the most relaxed they have every felt.

Can I come in even if I’m not “sick”?

Yes, of course. Many people use acupuncture as part of their ongoing wellness routines, just like going to the gym. Chinese Medicine is seen as a way of preventing future illness, so coming in before you get sick is the perfect time to make an appointment.

Is acupuncture covered by insurance?

Many extended health plans in BC cover Registered Acupuncturist (R.Ac) treatments. I can provide a receipt for you to submit. Please check with your provider for details.
